to the iron work. Its feet had evidently slipped, and when found by the mother some time afterwards, it was quite unconscious. The head had fallen to one side, tongue was protruded and the face had many petechia over it. There was a good deal of foam round the mouth. A medical man, who happened to be at hand, started artificial respiration, and the restoration of breathing was followed by general convulsions. A glycerine enema was given and an attempt made to control the convulsions by chloroform. I was told that this was continued, for one hour and a half, that the convulsions were unceasing, and that they could not get the child under chloroform!
